Geography

Toulouse the « Pink City » is the capital of Midi Pyrénées region. It’s also the prefecture of Haute Garonne department. The city is located on the banks of the Garonne and the Canal du Midi.

Demography

Toulouse is one of the five main cities of France – the other four being Paris, Lyons, Marseille and Lille. In 2000 the population in Toulouse accounted for around 1 million inhabitants – including the suburbs.

The French time zone

During the winter months the time is one hour after Greenwich Mean Time, but in the summer the clocks are put forward one hour for daylight savings.

Weather
